Ideas after the 2018 Halloween Event
Improvements
General
- More sound/volume (it was quite loud with all the people) or even better adaptive to the outside sound level.
- LED lighting panels, remote controlled (DMX?) via scary actions.
- Ground level fog (cooling system).
Dungeon
- Moving hands coming from the dungeon
- Black base layer under dungeon for protection
- Smoke comes out underneath the wall. Could be fixed with the above.
- Sound needs to be louder and growling or loughing needs reverb
- If you screem something in there, it should echo echo an reverb around
Flying ghost
- Pimp the flying ghost with sound, LED eyes, lighting, etc.
- He could be chasing a little witch on a broom that screems "help"
Monster in a box
- Box should detect when it is closed so that it doesn't stay open. Possible solutions: Detect the "close" position of the lever by IR light barrier or by magnet and hall sensor
- And it should be PIR triggered
- Box needs to be louder (see above).
- The box could be rocking
| Feature | Description | Column 3 |
|---|---|---|
| Stop only when shut | The lid animation only stops when the lid is shut. If the lid is open at the end of the action the motor carries on until the lid is shut | Text |
| PIR triggered | The monster in a box is triggered by people standing/moving in front of it. This can be deactivated. | Text |
| Sound triggered | The monster in a box is triggered by a keyword. This can be deactivated. | Text |
| Manual volume control | The volume of the moster in a box can be adjusted manually by the control app. | Text |
| Adaptive volume control | The volume of the moster in a box is adjusted automatically depending on the ambient noise. This can be deactivated. | Text |
| More volume | The sound can be louder | Text |
Demon
- Demon make-over. It's falling apart and only consists of duck tape now. It almost falls off the chair.
- More sound. The demon does not have a speaker at the moment.
- More pets. There're more skeleton animals that give of nice sounds.
- Interactive: It would be cool to have limited conversation skills ( in German). Google Home style. Maybe it can recognize certain key words?
Window decorations
- Projectors were not prepared well: have adapters ready.
- Maybe use little streaming box to avoid macbook in staircase
- Too small where it was. Spirit light looked good
- Other windows need foil
- More lights need to be covered by red paper
- Sebis kitchen: strobe light, explosion sounds, organ, evil laugh
New exhibits
- Lifesize object (Kate)
- Put styropore heads on sticks with shoulders and some cloth so that they are higher and look like ghosts.
- Spider with LED eyes and abseiling, controlled by a thread/tether
- Grave-riser out of the styropore sarcophagus
- Cocoonman in routine
- Exorcist-like installation with 360° plus head turning
- Lifesize witch stirring around in a pot
- Lots of little exhibits that are usually triggered by a little push button and then work on their own. But they are now part of the haunted house network
Other
- Visitor management: Coming in, people should queue on the right, at the bottom of the stairs they need to be stopped until there is room on the stairs.
- Walking areas need to be separated better from display areas. Corden off the ghost circle and the grave stone areas.
- Drinks/food? People were asking for mulled wine and Bratwurst.
- People could be asked for giving to charity.
Brainstorming April 13th @ Balzac
Evil Laughter
- Monster in a box IR-getriggert, damit man nicht immer triggern muss.
- Spielhaus Licht/Sound/Silouette.
- Neuer Grave-Riser
- Cocoon Man
- Raspberry Mini einsetzen
- Neue Eyes in the dark: cheap, viele und ferngesteuert. Eventuell mit einem zentralen Speaker im Gebüsch?
Wichtige Enabler-TODOs:
IFTTT in Halloween Steuerung integrieren.
- LED Leucht-Panel besorgen
- WLAN/Ethernet für draußen vorbereiten
